about me

Dr. Daisy Spoer (she/her) grew up in a family of artists; her mother and grandmother, both painters, taught her how subtle visual details can shape understanding. In medical school, she discovered that drawing helped her visualize and integrate anatomical relationships and pathophysiologic mechanisms. After completing her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine and a General Surgery internship at the University of Washington, she began a research fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Nour Kibbi at Stanford, with plans to pursue a career in dermatology.

She incorporates illustration into her learning, tracing molecular and histological processes to understand clinical dermatologic presentations. This approach has also helped her explain disease more clearly to patients and clarify complex ideas in her research. Her illustrations bring clarity to her own understanding, and she hopes they can provide the same for others.
